I am not a developer nor designer, rather i am network engineer. But i love Ubuntu and naturally inclined towards FOSS. I am currently learning designing as a hobby, and already have worked on inkscape for a while. Searching over the nets for inkscape tuts, I can safely say, yours website is the most professional around, in context of Inkscape tuts. However, i have been working on vector portraits, and cant seem to find any professional level tuts, nor anyone who is professional designer and uses inkscape. I love to continue working on inkscape, but somehow i am feeling now that inkscape is putting a halt to my learning curve due to lack of tuts available. So please if you can, answer me , should i switch to illustrator or suggest other if they are thinking to dive in designing world? If not, then where is professional grade material where people get inspired form inkscape powers? Aaron Nieze February 25, 2016 Reply Thanks for reading my stuff! Unfortunately, professional Inkscape design learning resources seem to be scarce. I’ve actually taught a course on Advanced Inkscape Techniques a little while ago (plus all of these), but again, it’s not catered towards professional use. If Google has failed you on resources, I’m thinking a best bet would be to learn the fundamentals of Inkscape, and perhaps find professional Illustrator material to use as a guide. I believe Inkscape has the power to be a fine tool in the design industry, but Illustrator is still the standard, even though it’ll cost you. If somebody is just starting in the design world, Inkscape is an amazing free design tool that’s easy to learn. Jonatan Yair May 27, 2015 Reply You make the use of Inkscape so easy, thanks for the tutorials. What about a tutorial to learn the use of all the snapping tools? Thanks in advance. Aaron Nieze May 27, 2015 Reply You’re welcome. Thanks for reading! I like the idea of a snapping tutorial, good idea. Meanwhile, if you haven’t seen it yet, this tutorial is pretty heavy on the snapping: http://goinkscape.com/how-to-draw-lego-bricks-in-inkscape/ Michelle July 3, 2014 Reply Thanks for the tips, well done video!!
